While preparing my bag, I took the necessary items from in front of my mirror and placed them in the bag and at the same time I was trying to call my friend Kumsal with the phone in my ear. The phone was picked up immediately after ringing a few times and a voice was already coming from the other side.

"Hilal, we are at the usual cafe, we are waiting for you." said Kumsal. Although I was surprised that they were meeting so early, when I took the phone away from my ear and looked at the time, I realized that there was actually a problem with my perception of time. "I'm coming, I may be a little late, I apologize in advance." I hung up the phone and started to get ready faster. I quickly took out the clothes I was going to wear that day in my closet and at the same time I was trying to put on my shoes.

The street was noisy as always and I didn't mind it anymore. I started walking with quick steps as the café I was going to was within easy walking distance. Today was my birthday even though it was no longer celebrated at home and that's why the Beaches were calling me to the café in a hurry. Looking at the clock, I realized that only ten minutes had passed since I left the house and I had arrived at the café.

As I approached the table where the girls were sitting, I smiled and put my bag on the chair where I was going to sit. When I saw that they were already ordering something, I called out to the waiter and asked for something. "You're eighteen now! Tell us how you feel now." Güzide said. I giggled when I heard that and wanted to say that I didn't feel anything, but instead I thought of something that wouldn't lower their mood.

"I feel great, I'm of legal age now." Both my friends seemed happy to hear that and we stopped talking about birthdays and started chatting amongst ourselves. I hadn't celebrated my birthday for about two years because it was also the anniversary of my father's death. My friends only celebrated verbally and didn't want to remind me too much of what had happened.

"There are new students at school. I don't know how many there are, but I heard that the boys are quite handsome." Kumsal said and we laughed at the table. She had also heard about the new students but she didn't care much because she had recently cut off all contact with the school.

As it was getting dark, I said that we should disperse and I said goodbye with difficulty and started walking home. I was a little scared as my mind wandered back to the news I had watched in the morning. I was more scared of the blood-red eyes that woke me up from my dream this morning. I had seen a man being attacked in a bar and immediately woke up to see that a man had been killed on the news, which of course made me question what had happened.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize that I had skipped a few streets and I turned into one of the alleys to go back. It was completely dark here now and it was a bit difficult to see anything. I put my head down and covered my face when I heard a few people laughing in front of me. Two boys and two girls were walking down the street laughing and when they saw me they all stared at me and fell into a deep silence. I wanted to pass them quickly without saying anything because I had a strange feeling that I was in danger.

I passed them with quick steps and when I turned around, not a single one of them was in sight. When I opened the locked door and went inside, my mother was sitting on the sofa, probably waiting for me to come in.

"I'm sorry I'm late," I said, and even though she was flustered, she smiled and nodded her head in agreement. I hung my bag on the hanger as I went to my room and took a deep breath and threw myself on the bed without even changing. My back ached from standing so much that the bed was extremely comfortable. After staring at the ceiling for a while, I turned on my phone and scrolled through social media.

When I couldn't find anything, even though I wasn't sleepy, I wanted to put my head on the pillow and go to sleep, but I couldn't close my eyes because every time I did, I would see blood-red eyes again and I would go back to that bar. No matter how many times I reminded myself that it was just a dream, I couldn't help but still feel scared. It was quite realistic, but the cold air penetrated me when he walked down the street.

Maybe my blanket must have slipped off me at night and that's why I was so cold in my dream, I thought. As I was thinking this, I fell asleep before I even put on my pajamas. I opened my eyes when the alarm went off again and I cursed silently for sleeping in my clothes last night.

Today school was going to reopen after a long time and no matter how unprepared I felt, I had to go because my mom forced me to. So I quickly got out of bed, took my clothes out of the closet and put them on my bed. When I left the room to take a shower, I didn't forget to take my towels. After a while, after taking my shower, I re-entered my room and started putting on the clothes.

When I glanced at the clock out of the corner of my eye, I realized that I still had plenty of time, so I took my time and went down to the kitchen to make breakfast. My mother always got up early and made breakfast for me, and she always reminded me that this meal was very important. So there was no way I was going to skip breakfast.
