He liked the patchy roads. It reminded him of the roads he had travelled with his family as a child. Of course, there were some things from that time that stayed with him. He couldn't stop his family at a corner of the road when he wanted to. Because in our culture, the destination is more important than the road. The destination is focussed on and you go towards it, but what should happen is to enjoy the journey. If it is not internalised, the journey can only become a torment.

The plastics in the car were creaking. I'll change this car next year, he said. He had set his goal before the next holiday. Since he was already living alone, his money was accumulating. He had stopped spending money for someone years ago. Although he usually couldn't see it at first, he saw the real faces of people after doing some favours. However, this did not stop him from doing good. Rather, it drove him away from people.

The fuel lamp came on. When this lamp was on and on the village road, he had to understand that he had to refuel at the first place he saw. Otherwise, he would get more and more nervous with every kilometre and since his car was almost the same age as him, he could not trust the indicator. He made up his mind to stop at the first petrol station he saw and continued to enjoy the road.

He saw a very beautiful poplar tree herd. The splendour of the trees made him feel beautiful and peaceful. Especially when the sun was out, being under the shade of a poplar tree and feeling the coolness and the wind blowing was perhaps one of the most peaceful activities.

He pulled the car to the left and reset the car to the road in case there was a passing car. He listened to the song playing a little more, opened all the windows and got out of the car in that way so that it could take off. As soon as he got out, his feet sank in the mud as a reminder of where he was. It made him happy rather than upset and resentful. Because clothes were things that were cleaned. But still, it would be better if the mud didn't smear too much. He was taking his steps more carefully.

He moved towards the poplars. Since there was already a long distance between the poplar trees, he stopped at a point that was both spacious and breezy, the sun was setting. He scrutinised it carefully. He thought. "The sun rises and sets every day, but I wonder how much I see it when I work at work," he said. Although this realisation made him feel a little bitter, he immediately returned to the moment and thought that the most important thing is to be in the moment, whatever happened during the year, but I am here now.

He sat in front of a poplar. He thought about who planted the trees. He looked around out of the corner of his eye and wondered if the person who planted it or his relative of any generation was somewhere nearby. I'll get up and have a look soon, he thought. The other day he had been so motivated at work that he had done the work of a few other people. I hope this did not create an expectation, he thought. Then he thought about his ex-fiancée from work. He didn't know how the situation had come to this place. She was now with someone Ahmet used to call his friend and they were probably thinking seriously. Ahmet always pretended to have forgotten, but the situation was not like that in his eyes and all he had forgotten was his good old memories with that woman. The dreams he had built together, that woman was now living alone and with someone else. Ahmet was trying to live his new dreams alone.

Time passed quickly and people were in very different roles.

He went to the far end of the poplar forest to look around. He was looking for a trace of those who planted these beautiful trees. Thanks had turned into a debt for him.

Although those who do good things usually say that they do not do it for appreciation, it is a well-known thing that this is not so. Therefore, if people are appreciated when they do good things, it is in a sense an incentive for them.

There was a hut, but it was not possible for someone to live in this hut. Nevertheless, he called out and asked loudly if there was anyone there. Although there was no answer, he got a little nervous. Because after he said this, he had the impression that everyone in the neighbourhood had heard his presence and they were watching him. He felt like he had to get into the car slowly.

He started to walk. Suddenly he felt a burning sensation in his wrist. The nettle had burned his wrist from the point where the trousers and socks could not reach. When he realised this, he was relieved because there were so many insects and plants that he did not even know the name of all around him. I dodged a bullet, he thought and continued walking towards the car. He remembered that he had left the windows open and accelerated a little because he had just shouted and if there was someone with bad intentions in the neighbourhood, it could cause him to make bad plans with the car. There was a stirring in the bushes. He tensed up. His car was almost in sight.
