The Lieutenant did not want to miss this detail. He interrupted the homeless man and asked:

- "Two lights close to each other? How close, what color were they? This could be important, I want you to force your mind to remember all the details." Selim thought for a while. Sometimes he would close his eyes, sometimes he would look around and think, and sometimes he would fix his eyes on a certain point and get lost in thought. Then he continued.

- "Okay, I'll try to describe it as much as I remember. Think of it like this, you are holding a flashlight in your right hand. Another friend of yours, right next to you, is holding a flashlight in his left hand and your right hand and his left hand are in contact with each other. It was that close, I think."

- "So, it was pretty close?" The homeless man nodded his head in agreement. Lieutenant Can Cihan continued his words:

- "So what color were these lights? Were they white or yellow like a flashlight? I mean, how do you know that they were flashlights?"

- "No, Lieutenant. I just assumed so, because usually police officers patrol the deserted streets on some nights. And they have flashlights, and I thought it was like that, but the color of the light was different. Or so I think... But I think at that moment I thought it might be something different. I can't remember exactly, but... It had to be different, that's what I thought. I even thought that they saw the blood and they were using an ultraviolet flashlight to see it more clearly. I mean, the color of the lights was not white, but I can't remember what color they were." Lieutenant Can Cihan realized that this was not normal. Because there should not have been any police officers patrolling that street today. Nevertheless, leaving the homeless man in the interrogation room, he headed to the lobby and approached Katre:

- "Find out if there is a group of police officers at the crime scene tonight. Ask around to the other stations, something important is likely to come out of this." he said. After Katre got to work, Lieutenant Can Cihan went back to the interrogation room.

- "Where did we leave off?"

- "You asked about the color of the flashlights, Lieutenant."

- "Yes, you don't remember the color of the lights you thought were flashlights, but you are sure they were not white. What did you do next?"

- "Then I ran towards them but I thought they had turned off the lanterns because the lights had disappeared. Then I was worried that I wouldn't be able to explain myself because my hands were bloody, so I came here. At that time I didn't see anyone on the street or in the alleys where I was walking."

- "Okay, I believe you didn't do it, Selim. But you are still going to be staying here. If it is proven that you were not with the other bodies that had their hearts ripped out before this, I will let you go." The homeless man did not seem upset that he would stay here. "Why should he be upset?" thought Can Cihan. "The man is already staying on the streets. He will have a bed and food during his stay here. He won't be cold and he will be able to wear clean clothes and take a shower." After a few minutes, they packed the files and left the interrogation room together. They delivered Selim to one of the cells, and he walked in without any resistance and started to eat the food with enthusiasm.

- Lieutenant Can Cihan approached Katre. "Did you find anything, Katre?" he asked in a tired voice.

- "Yes, Lieutenant. There is one last station left. So far it seems like no police officer has patrolled that street. I'm in contact with the station two kilometers away, and if they don't have anything either, then there was no one else on that street last night except Selim." After nodding in agreement, Can Cihan sat down in one of the chairs and put another file on top of the 6 murder files. While looking at the file, he was lost in thought. What could those lights have been? Frankly, there had been seven murders and this was the only evidence that could be pondered upon yet. Normally he wouldn't think about such vague evidence, but it was the only thing he could hold on to. Can Cihan felt guilty every time an innocent was killed. Why couldn't he solve this case? He was a highly trusted and known name in his field. Was this psychopathic serial killer smarter than him? This possibility troubled him, because he believed he had been able to solve all his previous cases with his intelligence.

When Selim ran in the direction of the lights, they were out. Why would a police officer do that? Any armed unit seeing a suspicious man running towards them would aim to catch him. But these two lights were turned off for some reason, which means they wanted to hide. No cop who values his job would do that. Besides, how many units had ultraviolet flashlights? As far as he knew, these flashlights were rare. And they were only used at the scene of a murder, not on the street. Besides, any policeman who saw such a murder happening would immediately notify the units. But no one had made any announcement before the homeless man. These people could definitely not be police officers, Can Cihan became more and more certain as he thought about the details.
